Lightweight Layers

You have to be quick, there really are only a couple of months that allow for a mix of summer and winter clothing to be combined, which leads me to today’s edit. Layering is essential in these in-between-seasons — you may think the sun is shining when you check the weather forecast, but really the mornings and evenings are often still chilly, which makes getting dressed kind of annoying.

Playing with lightweight layers that can be added or removed easily at this time of year is essential. I keep harping on about basics but this is proof of why they are so necessary — you’ll need an arsenal of simple tops and outerwear to allow for clever and weather-appropriate styling.

Spring is actually prime trench-coat season, as well as excellent weather for shirting and denim. These guys keep you warm while also looking fresh and not too heavy, and actually get a new lease of life when worn with lighter layers and not heavy knits.

Don’t delay in playing dress-up with these excellent in-betweeners (and yay to finally wearing open-toe shoes!).
