Trend To Try and Buy - Utility Jackets

They’re called utility jackets, but I think they’re more aligned to be called purposeful jackets. These guys aren’t just a pretty face, basically. They have zips! Pockets! Hoods! Function! They provide warmth whilst also serving a purpose — they get shit done!

They also happen to be a wonderful in-betweener for when you don’t want to commit to a coat, nor do you want to grab your old faithful puffer again. They look sleek with both jeans and leggings, and they won’t look out of place with a more dressy outfit. This season, they come in a variety of styles, ranging from workwear (straight silhouette, pockets, canvas fabric) to parkas (weather-proof, drawstring waist, hood) to a more modern denim jacket/shirt hybrid. The older I get, the more I appreciate utility-style clothing because they last the distance in terms of function and form. Also very handy for any Saturday morning soccer-moms out there (hi, it’s me!) who don’t mind looking like Gwyneth Paltrow on trial (also me, hi!).
