Spring Shoes (That Aren’t Sandals)

I could have called this edit “caged flats” but that does sound kind of creepy, so to be a bit more broad let’s just say these are the spring shoe alternatives to sandals and sneakers. There’s an undeniable pull to ballet-style flats that come in woven leathers, plastic, raffia and mesh, and they’re all pretty fresh and exciting for the new season.

Special shout out goes to Arket’s version of The Row’s jelly flats, their take in white leather is so much more versatile and luxe-looking, if you ask me… I also love Le Monde Beryl’s woven slippers and Mary-Janes and Ancient Greek Sandal’s PVC flats in clear or pink.

How to wear these guys? I say they’re an excellent option while you’re still in jeans but want to be less covered-up, shoe-wise. Also great with a cotton midi skirt, oversized shirt and slouchy tote.

If you want to make your first ever spring purchase before the weekend, I know exactly where to start…
