Resort-Ready Holiday Wear

It’s always around the start of July where I’m well and truly over winter clothes and and start dreaming about the sun and dresses. Unfortunately, I’m not escaping the cold this year, but I know many of you are. Even if you aren’t heading to Europe or similar, now is actually a great time to start thinking about and slowly building your new-season wardrobe.

Resort wear to me, is less about flamboyant prints and more about elegance. I love holiday dressing, but there is a certain Real Housewives vibe to many of the brands out there that champion big, bold prints and puffy-sleeved dresses, and I’m not entirely on board. I think I’m more into a happy medium, like a gorgeous kaftan-style dress (such as this absolute dreamboat by Suzie Kondi as worn by Lucy Williams recently), fun accessories and barely-there leather sandals. Matteau, Oroton and A.Emery are my favourite local labels doing this style of dressing really well right now.
