Layering Pieces For In-Between Seasons
Cold mornings and warm afternoons make for a very tricky dressing style. I’ve often started the day wearing something totally winter-ready only to be left sweltering by 4 pm…
I’ve found the only way to accomodate such extreme temperatures is to have a lot of layering pieces on hand and be prepared to strip off or add when necessary. Luckily, long sleeve T-shirts and knits are readily available this season which make for a great starting point. Just add appropriate bottoms — jeans, pants, skirts — whatever you fancy, and choose between a knitted or cotton top, and thick (puffer, coat) or thin (trench, denim) jacket. You can also try a knitted vest and cardigan, both either worn on their own or over a sleeved piece, for extra bulk without fully committing to a jumper.
It’s a great time to dip your toe into new seasonal pieces without investing too soon. Leave the chunky knits and coats for next month and embrace all things in-between right now with these layering superstars.
