Gorgeous Pyjamas
I can remember the time I got serious about pyjamas very vividly. I had just given birth to my daughter and established a tried and tested nighttime routine that I still implement to this day, nine years later. It involved having an evening shower as the clock struck 7 pm, indulging in a skincare routine and putting on a nice pair of pjs for the rest of the night. To accomodate breastfeeding I invested in a few button-up night shirts and sets which I still favour today, as well as some free-flowing nighties…
Putting on my pyjamas early in the evening symbolises my “clock-off” time from household and parenting duties. It also represents comfort and staying-in, two things I love and look forward to each day. If I had my way, I’d have an extensive pyjama wardrobe filled with crisp cotton shirts and breezy nighties, and I still pine after white cotton dresses with Picnic at Hanging Rock vibes that are hard to come by. Zara Home used to be my secret place for amazing nightwear for myself and kids, but sadly they no longer exist locally. I now rely on a mix of high and low brands to make all my nightwear dreams come true — Marks & Spencer, Boden, Papinelle, Jasmine & Will, to name a few. My only tip with pyjamas of any style are to size up (maximum comfort and allows for shrinkage), and always opt for silk over satin.
If you need to up your nighttime game, then you’ve come to the right place…
