4 Autumn Trends To Try
Autumn is here and now is the time to get your wardrobe sorted for the cooler weather ahead. While I could have focused on the basics that we all rely on at the start of a new season — shirts, denim, flats — I thought it would be more useful to show you the 4 top trends that are dominating the virtual and real life stores at the moment. They’re a little unexpected, they’re fun, and most importantly they’re wearable and adaptable for everyone. Here we go…
Tailoring
Suiting separates of any kind — blazers, pants, skirts and vests — are worn both together as a matching set and separately this season, just make sure you aren’t opting for anything too fitted, as we want to avoid the corporate look. A slight slouch is necessary in pants, while jackets are boxier and longer.
Long Skirts
Midi or maxi, just make sure your skirt is on the longer side for pure 90s nostalgia. Wear low on the hips if you dare, or keep things classic in a traditional slip or full-skirt style. These guys look great with an oversized knit during the day, or a sleek camisole or tank at night.
Metallics
This isn’t gold and silver’s first rodeo, but the way you wear it this time around may just surprise you. Don’t reserve this high-shine for evening only, wear the touches of sparkle throughout the day to give a luxe and textural vibe to an otherwise simple outfit.
Dopamine Dressing
It’s true, the brighter your clothes, the happier you are. Well, we can at least try anyway! Retire your neutrals and instead opt for clashing brights and unexpected hues in classic items — colourful cardigans and man-style pants get my vote.
