Alternatives to Jeans and a Knit
It’s always around this exact time, mid-July, that I feel the urge to switch up my entire wardrobe. I solely blame the weather and the fact that we all fall into a bit of a jeans-and-a-knit slump because it’s an easy outfit option and warm around this time of year.
Truth is, I’m so bored of all the “quiet luxury” looks at the moment, and hate myself for buying into the trend a little too much. I’ve spoken many times about my disdain for capsule wardrobes, and I feel this entire aesthetic is heading in the same direction…
I’m challenging myself to find some non-denim looks that are still weather-appropriate, and I urge you to do the same. I’d like to think outside the box for the remainder of the season and see what other outfits I can come up with that don’t bore me senseless. That means introducing more colour, different silhouettes, skirts in a variety of lengths, trousers (elasticised is my preference for comfort and cool-factor) and a bit of print.
If you’re also feeling a little uninspired at the moment, then why not try an outfit that is the opposite of your usual jeans and knit combo? While I can’t promise they’ll make the weeks to spring come faster, I can guarantee they’ll make you feel more stylish and individual than ever.
