The Net-A-Porter Sale Edit
When I worked in magazines, the then twice-yearly Net-A-Porter sales were like a national holiday. Bosses didn’t blink an eyelid if you spent an entire day adding or removing things from your cart, and it was basically the only time of year young stylists like me could afford anything designer.
Fast forward a few years (errr, decades), and not much has changed. As soon as the NAP sale email comes through, you can almost hear a collective gasp from women all over the world ready to pounce. And with good reason. It’s not often I peruse and buy full-price designer items, so when they’re discounted I definitely take advantage…
My plan of attack, which I have written about before, is to always start with shoes and bags. Filter by size for shoes and low-to-high for bags — this will weed out all the out-of-range stuff and speed up your shopping process. Then I focus on dresses by size, and from there I scroll through every category adding to cart where I see fit. At the end, I edit all my picks and usually end up buying only one or two things, if I’m honest, but they’re always worth the hunt. In the past I’ve bought beautiful heels, handbags I’ve worn for years, and dresses that still hang in my closet and get worn every season.
I did get a tad overwhelmed with today’s edit, though. There are so many products and so little sizing. I also didn’t find a whole heap I was in love with, but a lot of useful items that would be really handy to own now and in the future. It’s a great time to buy sandals and summer dresses, but also don’t sleep on their mix of lingerie and sportswear, which is always really affordable at this time of year.
Right, enough chatting, if you don’t act quick with these guys, they’ll be gone, gone, gone!
