80 Summer Day-Wear Pieces For You To Buy and Love
You told me you wanted more day-wear options for the summer season, so here I am delivering. I get it though. In most cases, I’d say it’s easier to put together an evening or party look than it is to put together a nice everyday outfit. You want your wardrobe to work hard during the long summer days — separates and dresses need to be comfortable, look chic and appropriate, take you from beach to dinner to drinks to shops and beyond, while also being easy to take care of and last more than a season. This is where basics come in super handy…
I’d say the foundation of great day-wear starts with an assortment of T-shirts, tanks, singlets and shorts in a variety of neutrals. I don’t buy into the narrative that these need to be expensive — to be frank, I’ve had chain-store finds last longer than designer pieces, so as long as you’re getting all-cotton and laundering them properly, you’re good. H&M and Uniqlo are my go-to for a medley of white and cream cotton tops.
Cotton dresses are also going to be a saviour for day-wear — I edited an entire collection just last week which require zero effort and styling. Get yourself a few for the holidays and just see them work their magic. Total game-changer and a godsend when you have kids who don’t let you get ready with time to spare!
Boxer-style shorts are also having a moment and I wholeheartedly am on board with their ease of styling and comfort levels. Anything elasticised can’t be bad really, can it? Team with matching shirts, or this is where your collection of basic tees comes in handy. Sandals or a cool pair of kicks complete the look nicely.
Ok, enough from me, it’s over to you (and your Visa) now…
