Your “Quiet Luxury” Edit
If you haven’t heard the term quiet luxury used lately, let me enlighten you. To put simply, it refers to minimalistic, classic and well-made items of clothing that favour timeless designs over trends. No obvious logos, no bright colours or prints…
Shiv Roy and Gwyneth Paltrow are the unofficial ambassadors of the aesthetic, while brands such as The Row, Celine, Khaite and Toteme are undoubtedly the pioneers of this luxurious dressing style. Is it all that different to the idea of a capsule wardrobe? Not really, but I will say there is a hefty focus on tailoring, knitwear and things that just look expensive with this “quiet” new way of dressing. You want to look high-end without telling the world exactly what you’re wearing. It’s all about the fit and fabric, basically.
If this sounds like a very costly new way of dressing, don’t panic just yet. You can get this exact look and feel without having to commit to designers you can’t afford with thanks to a clever eye, which is where I come in. Of course I’ve included some brands which are on the higher-end scale here, but I’ve also included many affordable and well-known brands that do a great job of giving Gwyneth vibes minus the price tag. In fact, I challenge you to guess which pieces are the more expensive ones in this edit before clicking.
