Good Shirts Under $150

Such a versatile wardrobe staple needed its own moment on the site — good shirts! For editing purposes I’ve focussed solely on the cotton, button-down style, but I know you can get many iterations in many different fabrications at the moment. (I don’t mind a silky blouse for evening, but strangely I’m not really a linen shirt type of gal… perhaps for the beach as a cover up, but I find linen in general kind of ageing.)

I only ever really hopped on the shirt train a couple of years ago and am so glad I did. The traditional workwear-style never appealed to me, but I really rate the styling power of a good shirt when worn with unexpected bottoms. Obviously they look pretty perfect when teamed with denim, but I also love how they add interest to maxi skirts, mini skirts and dress pants.

You may also think I’ve included many versions of the same shirt in today’s edit, but with a good shirt comes good detailing. I can guarantee no two shirts are ever exactly the same and it’s this exact point of difference that makes them so appealing and fresh to wear. Choose from a wide cuff, pocket detail, cropped silhouette, V-neck, puff sleeve… the options really are endless!

This is an item of clothing I don’t think you can ever have too much of, and I definitely don’t think you need to spend bug bucks to achieve the look well. Here are some of my favourites all under $150.
