What To Wear Out At Night When It’s Freezing

You speak, I listen. When I asked you over on Instagram what you wanted to see next on this website, over 50% of you needed a “night time but make it cosy” edit, so here we are.

Let me be clear, this isn’t a fancy evening-wear edit, but more a guide of how to stay warm and look evening-appropriate after hours, which is actually no easy task. It’s so easy to fall into a “jeans and knit” rut at this time of year, but we do have a lot of other options this season. Leather trousers, pleated skirts, satin-everything (shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, shoes…), ribbed knitwear, and yes, denim too, are all excellent options for a night out on the town (or you know, dinner with friends and back at home for Netflix), particularly when paired with some fun footwear and sparkly accessories. In fact, if you are keeping it simple with a straightforward outfit, I highly encourage you to think outside the box with accessorising — rhinestone earrings and knitted vests are my current picks.

Another Winter-dressing tip I strongly recommend is to mix textures and silhouettes — think fuzzy wool with smooth satin or a teddy coat with (p)leather. A gorgeous cardigan teamed with a slip-skirt will see you through every event on the calendar, and you can be sure to keep warm when adding some knee-high boots and a great oversized coat over everything. Ready to get toasty and inspired? Let’s go!
