Easy Dresses To Wear All Summer

Despite trend forecasting, retailers, and designers pushing separates of all kinds this season — skirts, shorts, tops — my analytics tell me it’s very much still all about the dress, and I totally get it. As soon as the weather heats up, I instinctively want to wear a dress for so many reasons. Firstly, they’re often easier to style — one piece of clothing and you’re done! They’re also often more comfy, and as I reach my mid 40s, I also find them more flattering to wear (no tucking in/belts/half-tucks to worry about).

Dresses cover so many occasions too, and more often than not, a simple cotton dress can be dressed up or down depending on the footwear and accessories you choose. The versatility make them such an obvious choice for warm summer days, it’s hard to put the effort in to other more styled “outfits”.

I’m personally mad for plain cotton dresses — shirred, shirt-dresses, mini or maxi, and have already invested in a few by my favourites including Matteau, Cos and Faithfull The Brand. Here are some great ones which may come in handy this holiday season.
