Cold-Weather Evening Looks

If you thought you had to sacrifice warmth in order to look evening-appropriate, think again. With the return of the “jeans and dressy top” look, as well as a big focus on outerwear, there’s never been an easier way to dress up and layer up.

In fact, you can double-duty items already in your wardrobe and rework them for fancier occasions with a simple swap of footwear and accessories. Knits can still work after dark, as can denim and woollen coats. The trick is to add a good heel or boot, and always have opposing silhouettes working with each other, e.g. a fitted knit with slouchy jeans and a heel, or an oversized coat over a slinky dress. It pays to have staples for this very occasion, as well as a mix of neutrals and black to swap in and out as you need.

Don’t let a drop in temperature mess with your social plans this season. We can all be hot when it’s cold outside, I promise!
